The NEA Academy is another great resource with greatly discounted fees for members.
To benefit from the possibilities of a new world of learning and transform today's public learning system innovative thinking and action will be required on the part of many people and organizations. We need to think and act differently than we have been.
KnowledgeWorks has just released
Creating a New World of Learning: A Toolkit for Change Makers --a guide to help individuals and organizations become active catalysts and creators of a new world of learning.
The toolkit will help you learn about trends affecting the future of learning and begin to plan for how you can move toward a world of learning. It is organized as an action planning guide for facilitators convening groups and individuals interested in learning and innovation. The toolkit can help you:
- Explore a world of learning that will be customized, connected, amplified, authentic, relevant, and resilient and consider opportunities for learners and learning system
- Examine possibilities and plan for action in light of those opportunities and your organization's particular vision and mission.
With these goals in mind, the toolkit provides you with tools and materials to lead hands-on activities that will allow you and your group to explore ideas, experiment with possibilities, and create action plans. It provides a menu of activities for designing strategic learning experiences that meet your needs and fit the time you have available. The activities reflect four modes of engagement:
- IMAGINE a new world of learning
- LEARN about possibilities
- APPLY new ideas for change
- PRIORITIZE actions for results.
We hope Creating a New World of Learning: A Toolkit for Change Makers will help you expand your thinking about what is possible and provide resources and practical guidance to assist you as you boldly take action toward creating a new world of learning that will:
- Put learners at the center
- Leverage technologies and human capital in new ways
- Support anytime, anywhere learning
- Include a diverse range of institutions and organizations, not just schools.
