District 60, PEA, PPEA, and PESPA are proud
to announce the creation of a
Sick Leave Bank
for the use of all qualifying D60 employees.

During September and October 2011, the Sick Leave Bank (SLB) will register members and set up its procedures and forms. The SLB will begin to function November 1, 2011.

An employee who chooses to participate in the Sick Leave Bank must donate one (1) excused leave day each year.  This year, the enrollment period will be open through October 31; in the future, employees must enroll in the SLB by donating a day during the month of September.  SLB Employee Donation Forms are available on the District intranet, on the PEA website, in the Office of Human Resources or at the PEA Office.

The SLB will be managed by a Sick Leave Bank Board composed of eight (8) members. Four members will be selected by the District; four members by the three Associations. The SLB Board’s decisions will be final.

The SLB will be reserved for those in dire need, who have exhausted their own excused leave and who experience an unexpected catastrophic illness or event that makes it impossible for him or her to fulfill his/her duties in the District. The SLB will NOT be used for colds or regular doctor’s appointments, to extend normal maternity leave or in place of disability.

On our Important Documents page is an FAQ and a Donation form to join the Sick Leave Bank. For further information and all the details, go to our Sick Leave Bank  page, the District intranet, or talk to your AR or Principal.

Teacher plan time will always be the first half of the afternoon, PLC time the last.PLC time ends at the end of your regular day. You should be involved in your building decision about when each begins.
The two agreements are posted verbatim below.
Make sure your time is being used appropriately and wisely!
