Highlights of the 2012-13 Changes to the Agreement:
• Implements NO furlough days and freezes salary and benefits for 2012-13, with the exception of education credit. Any teacher who has earned credit over the last three years, will be eligible to move lanes as appropriate, if the hours were declared by September 15 and documented by October 31.
• Codifies a regular monthly meeting between the superintendent and the PEA leadership.
• Creates an appeal process for teacher members of the Sick Leave Bank Board who are not approved by the Board of Education.
• Creates a task force which will meet monthly with the superintendent to address workload.
• Amends the MOU on Early Release time as follows:
Secondary schools continue to split each Friday early release time.
Elementary schools, including K-8 schools, will each create a regular schedule for Friday early release time which will include two (2) Friday’s early release time per month being designated as teacher work/plan time, one designated building/principal time, and splitting equally any fourth Fridays which occur (September, February, March and May).
ALL Friday early release time schedules exclude teacher workdays, district PD days and holidays which may occur on a Friday.
