TENTATIVE AGREEMENT RATIFIED
THE PEA membership ratifies the tentative agreement in an all member vote October 12 and 13. The District 60 Board of Education voted tonight October 25 to ratify the agreement, as well. This agreement is now in full force and effect. You may access the new agreement in its entirety HERE.Highlights of the new Agreement: • 2 year agreement with re-openers for financial and 2 other articles.
• Implements NO furlough days and freezes salary and benefits for this year,
• New grievance procedure which replaces the grievance hearing with an interest based problem solving process, including a trained facilitator.
• Clarifies that a school committee should be involved in the assignment of non-teaching duties such as the duty schedule, disrupted scheduling situations, and so on.
• Adds 20 days of work related injury or illness leave
• No longer confines the PEA president to the lunchroom, and allows PEA to use district email within the confines of the Fair Campaign Practices Law.
• Defines PLCs
• Creates a Task Force to oversee the implementation of SB 191
• Defines the Building Leadership team as comprised of a ‘representative group of teachers’
• Reorganizes early release time to be split evenly between teacher time and PLCs.
• Creates a real Sick Leave Bank for all employees
• Combines all Sick and Personal into “Annual Excused Leave”
Parental, military, professional, academic, special stay same; legal stays same, except we have added that teachers may not be charged for their days in court defending a job related charge if the charges are dismissed
